More pertinent for fortnite weapons, the game's biggest rival, Playerunknown's Battlegrounds put on a significant e-sports championship of its own. And while Fortnite might have surged ahead of PUBG in terms of fame, the event in Germany revealed that it certainly lags behind when it comes to the e-sports seeing experience.

For audiences in the home, there were also map overlays that showed where the numerous teams were hiding out, along with multiple camera angles that made it feasible to see when players got near each other and a skirmish was about to Buy fortnite items break out. A persistent scoreboard also made it feasible to find out who was still standing and that had the most points at any given moment. As a casual PUBG viewer, I was still able to take at the contest and understand exactly what was occurring. It was a great series and also one that was very global; China's OMG held off Team Liquid to take home the grand prize, and there were aggressive teams in Korea, North America, Europe, and elsewhere, all with a reasonable chance of winning.

This isn't to mention that Fortnite will not ever be a significant participant in e-sports, but a huge player base and a big cash infusion are not promises of success. The Summer Skirmish series feels like a beta; Epic is clearly testing ideas, with a format which changes on a weekly basis, and it has slowly been improving since the very first weekend. And the interest is there, too. Regardless of the numerous issues that the tournament has faced thus far, Twitch numbers are strong, and prominent e-sports squads keep signing Fortnite players in hopes of getting a piece of that $100 million.

There is clearly a great deal of work to do, though. Even if Epic wants to be distinct, and supply a exceptional kind of aggressive gaming environment befitting the unique game, there are plenty of things that the developer can find out from its peers with regards to putting on an event that is enjoyable and easy-to-understand. Epic has large plans for Fortnite from e-sports -- now it just needs the viewer and structure experience to cooperate with it.
