Prizes to be named after Geoff Mains and Cynthia Slater.
NLA: International, a leading organization for activists in the pansexual leather community, announced today the creation of annual awards for excellence in writing and publishing about leather, SM, bondage and fetishes.
Two awards will be given, one for the best book that fosters education and promotes awareness and a positive image of the leather community, and one for the best non-fiction article from a periodical or web magazine. The book and article awards will bear the names, respectively, of Geoff Mains and Cynthia Slater, two late pioneers and leaders in the community who used the written word as one of their best tools as activists.
Nominations are now being accepted for books or articles published between 1 January 2007 and 31 December 2007. The deadline for nominations is 31 May 2008 and winners will be announced at the NLA-I
